 Join us for the official opening of the 8th annual Espanola Fibre Arts Festival.  We will hear from artist David Melnychuk as our Keynote and featured artist for this years festival.  We will learn about the Importance of Art & Craft in a Healthy Society.  

Art and craft have always played important roles in developing and sustaining traditional civilizations.

 Come and create abstract landscape art using yarn and fibre art techniques!

We will spend the 4 hour workshop envisioning and creating structural fabricated forest scenes.  

Wrapping, hand weaving, painting, and sewing can all be utilized to articulate the feeling of being deep in the woods.

 Hunger For Truth: The Rhea Clyman Story” (directed by Andrew Tkach, 2017). The film documents the story of Canadian reporter Rhea Clyman, the first Western journalist to expose Stalin’s state-sponsored famine-genocide. In 1932, at the age of 28, Clyman travelled clandestinely through Ukraine to witness the famine first-hand.
